More than 10,000 people have been working at the United States supermarket chain since January.
The US supermarket chain has grown its presence in Australia by about 60 per cent since last year and employs about 7,000 workers.
The US supermarket giant has its roots in the 19th century in Laughlin, Arizona, where it was started by William T. Hogg and later renamed T.C. Haggs in 1909.
It was sold to Kroger for $5.9 billion in 2010.
Kroger has since grown its store base to over 2,000 stores in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Krogers supermarket locations are based in Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, San Diego, Denver, Chicago, Boston, Houston and Minneapolis.
It also has a major presence in Sydney and Melbourne.
The company is based in the United Kingdom and has branches in Singapore, New Zealand and Hong Kong.KROGER has an overall store base of over $3.3 trillion.
