Pet store operator Johns grocery chain has closed its stores and its headquarters in the city of Pet, a suburb of Denver, amid the mass shooting at the Pet Supermarket.
Pet Supermarket, which is owned by Pet Supermarkets Inc., was closed early Friday following the shooting, a spokesman said.
Pet is also in the midst of closing its Denver headquarters, according to the spokesman, whose name was withheld.
The spokesman said the company will continue to support Pet Superstores in its community.
Pet, which was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Petco, Colorado, said in a statement Friday that it is suspending operations and has suspended its stores in Pet until further notice.
